THE UNEXPLAINABLE ERA

Does most of the secular world seem crazy these days to you or is it just my personal view of our “civilization.”

A decade or so ago, I used to shake my head in disbelief once or twice a day concerning something I heard or saw that was just “plain stupid,” but if I did the same thing now my neck would explode!

Yes, I am aware that there is some solace in the fact that human history shows other generations that have had difficult days and eventually recovered, but none quite like this. Technology has changed all of that. We are not living in the same world as others in the past. Today is altogether different. It is truly a different world than it has ever been before. The world is now traveling through an unexplainable era.

I don’t even need to illustrate that point it is so evident. Fear, anger and confusion rule the day. Riots, hatred, ridiculousness are common place on the evening news. It is a mad, mad world.

But I’m glad to testify, there are those who in the midst of this ungodly culture have discovered a way above the fray of these times. Those whose faith is anchored in Christ Jesus have the keys to personal peace and a calm freedom from fear. The Scriptures describe it as peace in the midst of the storm.

Money, influence, friendships, none of these and a thousand other things can’t pay the price for peace. That price was paid on the Cross of Calvary by Jesus the Son of God two thousand years ago. And since then it has been available for anyone who chooses to gain it through a personal relationship with Christ.

So what is the answer for the unexplainable era of time? Christ Jesus is the answer. Hear His words to us:
“Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”  John 14:27

Isaiah 26:3 reminds us, “You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.”
